BLAZON Per saltire Argent and Gules, in chief and each flank a martlet counterchanged and in base a garb Vert banded Or, all within a bordure per saltire Gules and Argent charged in the middle chief and base with an escallop Or and in each flank with another Sable for difference. Above the Shield is placed an Helmet befitting his degree with a mantling Gules doubled Argent, and on a Wreath of the Liveries is set for Crest a branch of Scots pine pale ways surmounted of two muskets of the period of the War of Independence in saltire all proper, and in an Escrol over the same this Motto, ‘In Domino Confido’.
