Blazon of Arms:
Shield: Parted quarterly Gules and Or, in the first and third quarters each three fleurs de lis Argent; overall a canton Argent.
Crest: A demi-pegasus forcené wings elevated and addorsed quarterly Gules and Or.

MAJ Randal Ray Massey of Dunham, USA (Ret.) the SSA’s founding chairman, was born on 17 November 1949. He died on 31st May 2025 at age 75 in his sleep. He is survived by his wife Holly, his son Randal, and grandchildren Coleson and Siena.
Commissioned in 1973 through OCS into the National Guard as an Infantry Officer Randal transferred to the Quartermaster Corps of Army Reserve in 1988. His last duty assignment was as a Major with the 3rd Army, serving in Saudi Arabia during Desert Storm, where he was injured while jumping out of a helicopter and medically retired.
He was a great friend to many of us and the principal impetus for the founding of the Society, working with Lord Lyon Sir Malcolm Innes of Edingight.
