These are the fictional arms of James Alexander Malcolm Mackenzie Fraser of Broch Tuarach , born 1 May 1721, and known as “Jamie” one of the two chief characters of the best seller “Outlander” Series by Miss Diana Gabaldon. Jamie inherited the arms from his father, Brian Fraser (an illegitimate son of Simon Fraser, the 11th Lord Lovat, "the Old Fox") who had matriculated his arms.

The genealogy and arms of this chiefly family was written up and given their arms with the help of the Baronage Press, and were used by Miss Gabaldon in her book “The Outlandish Companion” in 1999. The eight books in “The Outlander” series to date (also known as Big Fat Books) deal with the period 1743-1778, the first three about the rising of 1745 in Scotland and the next five about the American Revolution of 1776-83. A ninth novel is in the works, as this is another “Big Fat Book” and the author is in the midst of researching and writing it, neither she nor her publisher have a publication date. Perhaps, maybe … possibly it will be published circa. 2019. dqw 2018 0718
