William de Comyn, Earl of Buchan was one of the Mormaer princelings of old Scotland. He was born in about 1163, in Elginshire, Scotland. to Richard de Comyn and Hextilda de Tynedale. He married Sarah FitzHugh about 1189, in Scotland. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 1 daughter. In 1205, his occupation is listed as Justiciar of Scotia. He died about 1233, in Buchan, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, age about 71, and was buried in Buchan, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
