2012-59 Lyon Office
|
At the Office of the Lord Lyon, Edinburgh
These two tabards are displayed at the entrance to the office. The lower one is in the pattern used from 1838 (the coronation of Queen Victoria) to 1928 and the upper, with the proper quarters for Scotland, is one made in 1928 and used until about 1978 when we had new tabards made. We are in the process of having another new set made now. They would not have been made for any specific officer of Arms but for one of the heralds. Tabards are passed from officer to officer as there are changes.
