The Forth Bridges:
The closest is the famous Forth Railway Bridge
featured in the movie "The 39 Steps" movie of 1935 & its remake
of 1959. The bridge crosses the Firth of Forth in East Scotland
from South Queensferry, 14 miles West of Edinburgh, over the
Firth of Forth to North Queensferry in Fife.
It was the first major structure constructed of steel in Scotland
and, for that matter, the rest of the United Kingdom. Its building took
place from 1882 until 1889. It was officially opened by the then
Duke of Rothesay ( also the Prince of Wales ) later becoming
King Edward VII in 1890.
It is considered a Symbol of Scotland
The towns of Queensferry and the road bridge
of Queensferry Crossing memorialize
Queen (St.) Margaret of Scotland who installed ferry boats
there to assist pilgrims on their way North to St. Andrews
St. Margaret died in 1091....

The bridge just west of the Forth Railray Bridge is the
Forth Road Bridge which opened in 1964. Beyond this bridge is the
Queensferry Crossing Bridge (also a road bridge ) which carries the
M90 Motorway. This bridge opened in 2017
