Tweeddale, Marquess 2
Blazon of the Shield of Arms: 1st & 4th Argent, three escutcheons Gules ( for Hay ); 2nd Gules three bars Ermine (for Gifford); 3rd Azure three cinquefoils Argent (for Fraser).

Crest: A goat’s head erased Argent, armed Or.

Supporters: On either side a buck Proper, attired and unguled Or, each gorged with a collar Azure, charged with three cinquefoils Argent.

The Marquess of Tweeddale in the Peerage of Scotland was created on 17 Dec 1694 by William III of England who was also William II of Scotland.

The current holder is Charles David Montagu Hay, 14th Marquess of Tweeddale. Heir presumptive: The 1st marquess’ heirs male whatsoever.

This illustration is an interpretation of Mr. Graham Johnston, Heraldic Artist to the Court of the Lord Lyon from 1898 to 1927. Considered one of the very finest of heraldic artists of the first half of the 20th Century. One can see his initials in the lower left of the illustration.
