These are the fictional arms of Claire Elizabeth Beauchamp, born 20 October 1918, known as “Sassenach” one of the two chief characters of the best seller “Outlander” Series by Miss Diana Gabaldon.

The genealogy and arms of the chief families were written up and given their arms with the help of the Baronage Press, and were used by Miss Gabaldon in her book “The Outlandish Companion” in 1999. The six books to date deal with the period 1743-1776, the first three about the rising of 1745 in Scotland and the second three about the revolution of 1776-83 in America. It is understood that a seventh novel is due to be published in Sep.-Oct. 2009. dqw
