Dr. Bruce Durie, Ph.D.

David John Bruce Durie, born in 1954 in Kirkcaldy, Fife, Scotland and is resident in the same place. He is the only son of the late David Alexander Durie and his spouse Frances Binnie, daughter of William Richard Cutland. Dr. Durie received a BSc ( Hons ) 1st Class, in Biological Sciences from the University of Edinburgh and his PhD in Education and History from the University of Strathclyde. He married the late Margaret Mary Jones and has by her an only son and heir apparent, David Donald Alexander James Durie born in 1992 in Kingston-upon-Thames, Surrey, England. Dr. Durie has had a successful career in higher education, particularly the teaching of genealogical studies, is a professional genealogist and has authored many books and other publications. The artwork is a rendition presented in an image by the armiger which reflect the arms illustrated in the Letters Patent issued to his late father.
