Shield of arms of SSA Member John Amos Logan. A traditional full sized heater shape made of steel, 24” tall by 19” wide, which was acquired along with two other identical shields by the late L. George van Syckle and your editor in 2007. John’s shield was painted by his late wife and hangs in his home office.
As far as I know George’s shield was never painted as he died in 2008. Your editor’s shield was painted by his daughter and may be viewed elsewhere in this website ( In the Heraldic Insignia & Art Album and the Picture Gallery 2015-2017 Album ).
Photo Credit: John Logan, III, heir to the Logan arms.
The artwork is a rendition by Phyllis Logan.
