Here we have a scanned image of the text which accompanys the illustration of the achievement of arms for Captain Norwich Duff RN, a survivor of the battle of Trafalgar, from the Public Register of all Arms and Bearings in Scotland, Volume 3 , Folio 74 dated 10 Dec 1829.

What follows is a transcription of the scanned text which is a bit difficult to read.

Norwich Duff Esquire Captainin the Royal Navy, only son of the late Captain George Duff of the Royal Navy who fell in command of His Majesty's Ship Mars in the memorable battle of Trafalgar on the 24th day of October 1805; by Sophia daughter of Alexander Dirom of Muiresk, Esquire; Which Captain Georg. Duff was eldest son of James Duff, Esquire, the third son of Alexander Duff of Hatton, Esquire by Helen daughter of George Skene of Rubislaw, Esquire…that by sufficient Evidents produced with the petitionof the said Captain Norwich Duff, he shewed that he was paternally descended from Alexander Duff of Keithmore, Esquire, who was geneally descended from and represented the family of Craighead as appeared from a matriculation in our Register of Arms Bearers.
Vert a fess dancettie ermine betwext a Buck's head cabossed and two escallops Or
Being the arms of the said Alexander Duff of Keithmore and as a mark of congruient difference and as an honourable Augmentation to the said arms to commemorate the death of the said petitioner's father in the service of his country:
On a chief of the second wavy, the Trafalgar Medal Or pendent by a ribbon Azure Argent Azure betwixta Wreath of Cyprus and Laurel with the word "Trafalgar" under the medal.
Which honoraryMedal also produced was bestowed upon the said petitioner's Family by His Late Majesty George the Third in consideration of the services performed by his desceased Father.
Above the shield is placed a helmet befitting his degree with a mantling Gules doubled Argent and are set for CRESTS, on the dexter: upon a wreath of his liveries:
A demi lion rampant holding in the dexter paw a broad sword in pale proper hilted and pomelled Or. With this MOTTO over the same VIRTUTE ET OPERA
And upon the sinister a Naval Crown Or with the word "MARS" over the same in base and issuing therefrom a Ship of War's mast with the pendant half mast lowered emblematical of the death of the officer in command all encircled by a Wreath of Laurel with this MOTTO over the same CUPRESSUS HONORES PEPERIT
These Arms are destined by Letters Patent from the Lord Lyon bearing even date with this Matriculation the tenth day of December 1829 to the said Captain Norwich Duff and his heirs with due and proper differences according to the Laws of Arms being first matriculated for them severally in the Public Register.
