Crest: A man’s heart Gules pierced by a passion nail Sable

Motto: Semper Virtute

Pennon: 120 centimeters long of these liveries Or and Gules with the Gules and Or with the Petitioner’s arms in the hoist, bearing the motto "Semper Virtute" in two lines counterchanged. The pennon is limited to the armiger and his successors in these arms.

Grant: The grant was entered on page 24 of Volume 89 of the “Public Register of All Arms and Bearings in Scotland” on 5 February 2009 at the Court the Lord Lyon.

John Amos Logan was born in 1940, is a graduate of the University of Minnesota, with a Bachelor’s degree (BA). A close friend who was one of a group of persons who purchased lands on the Isle of Sanday, the Orkneys, Scotland. He is the head of his family and holds the lands of Afton Glen on Sanday. His arms are differenced as an indeterminate cadet of the Name, House and Arms of Logan. The heir to these arms is currently his eldest son, John Amos Logan, the younger.

A four year veteran of the US Air Force he last served with MATS in Taiwan, China. Currently, he is a Lieutenant Colonel in the Veteran Corps of Artillery, State of New York ( an Historic Military Command est. in 1790 ) and holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel on the New York State Retired List as well.
