Lorraine
Allan George Lorraine, ( 1923- )

Arms: Argent a patriarchal cross Or fimbriated Gules between in chief two laurel leaves Vert and in base a garb of the last banded of the Second, all within a bordure indented of the Third.

Crest: A hawthorn bush Proper.

Motto: Faith, Integrity, Service

The Letters Patent for these arms were issued at the Court of the Lord Lyon on 20 June
1985 sealed and signed by Malcolm Innes of Edingight, Lyon ( Sir Malcolm was still a CVO at the time the KCVO came in 1990.)

Allan Lorraine was born in 1923 in Albert Park, Victoria, Australia, of parents of long Scottish ancestry, is a holder of a Bachelor Commerce Degree from the University of Melbourne, and is a Fellow of the Australian Society of Accountants.

During WW2 he served in the Australian Army from 1942-1946, trained in signals he served in both Australia itself and in Papua New Guinea, being discharged as an Acting Sergeant, receiving the Pacific Star, War Medal and Defence Medal.

In 1947 Allan G. Lorraine married Rosebud E. Parrott, they had four children of whom three survive including his heir, Robert C. Lorraine born in 1951.

Postwar He worked for the Commonwealth Public Service for the Postmaster-General’s Dept., Dept. of the Treasury, then Labour and National Service Section and continued in government service through retirement in 1985. He then worked and continues to work
voluntarily in various community interests local to his residence in Moorabbin, Victoria, Australia.

In 2016 Allan George Lorraine was the recipient of the Order of Australia Medal in the Queen’s Birthday Honours for public service, particularly for service to Aged Care at
age 93.
