Lawson
Lt. Col. Harold Andrew Balvaird Lawson, CVO, 1899-1985 was a Scottish herald who served as an officer of arms for over 50 years between 1929 and 1985. He was on duty at the Coronation of King George VI in 1937 and held the office of Rothesay Herald for over 40 years. See his other entry for additional biographical information.

The original of this portrait was painted by Don Pottinger, LVO, in 1949 and hangs today in Lyon Clerk's office at the Court of the Lord Lyon. Pottinger seem to love to do heraldic artwork and portraits and was in fact appointed Islay Herald at Lyon Cout in 1981. See his entry slso.
